About Emily Berenson, M.S., CGC
Emily Berenson received her Master of Science in genetic counseling from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in May 2020. During her graduate education, she completed a clinical rotation at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, in addition to other locations in North and South Carolina, including Medical University of South Carolina, Greenwood Genetics Center and Atrium Heath. After graduation, she joined the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio as a genetic counselor in the Pediatric Hematology Oncology Clinic. Berenson is also involved in the GRACIAS Texas (Genetic Risk Assessment for Cancer in All of South Texas) program within the Mays Cancer Center. Her research interests include the psychosocial impact of comprehensive tumor surveillance for hereditary cancer syndromes such as Li-Fraumeni syndrome.
