About Neil Newman, MD
Neil Newman, MD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. In his medical training, he earned a combined medical degree and master of science in clinical and translational sciences. After completing his residency at Vanderbilt University in Radiation Oncology, he is now part of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Mays Cancer Center, home to UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Newman primarily treats patients with lung and gastrointestinal cancer. He enjoys working within a multidisciplinary team to develop personalized treatment plans for his patients. His research interests include hematologic toxicity from radiation therapy, synergism of the immune system using immunotherapy with radiation therapy, novel radiologic tracers for disease response, database analysis, and methodological research.
