About Rachel Giese, MD, FACS
Rachel Giese, MD, FACS, is an associate professor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio and is a head and neck surgeon at the Mays Cancer Center, home to UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center.
She specializes in the treatment of benign and malignant tumors of the head and neck, including thyroid, parathyroid, salivary glands, oral cavity (mouth), throat and larynx. She also treats vascular malformations and malignant vascular tumors. Her research interests include oral cancer and the role of the microbiome.
Giese received her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio and completed her otolaryngology-head and neck surgery residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She completed a research fellowship and a clinical fellowship in head and neck surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology.
